When does Human Life Begin? For two thousahd years it was understood and it was taught in high school, college, and university, and it was published in student’s biology textbooks, that human life began the moment a human sperm fertilized a human ovum. Human life was protected from the moment conception and throughout the nine months the unborn baby was developing inside its mother’s womb.
This all changed following the sexual revolution and the feminist revolution which prepared the way for the legalization of abortion. Once the U.S. Supreme Court took this drastic step, the Hippocratic Oath, which enjoined physicians from taking human life and doing harm to the fetus, was discarded into the obsolescense thrash bin of history. Unfortunately, many Christian organizations decided to turn a blind eye to this moral monstruosity, and Seventh-day Adventists joined this slide down the moral hill.
