Ph.D. Dissertation
The Original Online Version of the doctoral Dissertation
I am assuming that you are aware that, as a result of my concern about the direction the Adventist Church took three decades ago in connection with the issue of abortion when the leaders of our community of faith opted to depart from the pro-life position of our early pioneers, I decided to secure a Ph.D. diploma with the hope of increasing my chances of gaining access to the Adventist official and independent periodicals.
This did not materialize the way I had hoped for, and only two of my submissions were accepted for publication by one of our independent magazines, Adventist Today. I appreciate this fact based on the premise that any portion of enchilada, small thogh it might be, is better than none.
It took me an entire decade to complete my doctoral program on a part time basis by distant learning. It was a rewarding experience, regardless of the fact that my hopes of gaining free access to our Adventist publications did not materialize. The title of my dissertation was: FROM PRO-LIFE TO PRO-CHOICE. THE DRAMATIC SHIFT IN SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS’ ATTITUDE TOWARDS ABORTION.
In the event this topic is of interest to you, I suggest that you try to read it online. I would have preferred to have it published in book form, but my finances were and are very limited. You can access the original version of the dissertation through the following Internet link: http://sdaforum.com/page13.html or the button link listed below. If you can provide me with some feedback, please, do so! I will also attempt to post a revised, illustrated copy of the same, as time permits. Said work is currently in progress!

The Edited & Illustrated Version of the Doctoral Dissertation
Following the receipt of some constructive criticism dealing with a minor factual error, I decided to revise the original online version of my doctoral dissertation and post the result here. No major revisions were implemented, but rather a few corrections connected with a factual mistake where a quote was erroneously atributed to the editor of a book published over a century ago, and recently republished by an Adventist historian.
Said minor changes do not diminish the strength of the major thrust of the investigation based on the suggestion that the Adventist Church has experienced a dramatic shift in its attitude towards the practice of abortion, as reflected in the denominational literature and the practice of offering abortion services in its medical institutions, including the offering of ELECTIVE abortion services to its patients in some of the hospitals owned and operated by the church. Illustrations were added to the revised version of the document in order to make the reading less monotonous.
