Medical Specialist and Businessman Dr. Mark Holterman

Mark Holterman grew up in Wisconsin and his family owned a farm. He is a physician, teacher and he enjoys doing research on multiple things in his spare time. Mark has devoted himself to helping the needy in all ways possible. He has donated his money, time, knowledge and assistance to the International Pediatric Specialists Alliance for the Children of Vietnam, which has aided in helping cure people with illnesses. But that is just one of his many contributions to society!

 

Background of Mark Holterman

One of Mark’s high-school teachers inspired him to try to get into Yale after gradating high school. He ended up taking his teachers advice, and he didn’t regret it whatsoever! Mark decided to attend Yale – majoring in biology, something he was always very passionate about. After graduating Yale in 1980, Mark decided to go to the University of Virginia as a medical student.

Mark was focused on being a pediatrician after graduating from the University of Virginia, however, after meeting a woman named Ai-Xuan Le – he was also influenced to become a surgeon too. After spending a lot of time together, Mark and Ai-Xuan Le decided to start dating. They got married in 1988, a decision that neither of them regret. This marriage produced three sons between them. Holterman decided to attend the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center after completing his studies at the University of Virginia. Here he was a surgeon in training.

Mark and Ai-Xuan relocated to Seattle. Here Mark worked for the University of Washington’s Children’s Hospital and Medical Center as a pediatrician surgeon. Mark has over 20 years of experience as a surgeon and pediatrician. Holterman is the Chief Executive Officer at Mariam Global Health, he has also joined the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2011. He is currently a educator and a mentor for courses such as the pediatric field and the surgeon field.

Holterman does surgeries on children at three different hospitals ; the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, St. Francis Medical Center, and the Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital. Holterman does research for the University of Illinois, working to find a way to treat and prevent diabetes and cancer.

The Hannah Sunshine Foundation is a charity that Mark Holterman helped create. Mark Holterman has written many posts on various subjects that he is an expert in. He has also given many speeches worldwide, so that he could teach other people all that he knows.
